HISTORY OF ŠPINDLERŮV MLÝN SKI RESORT
The first cable car in Svatý Petr was built in 1947, it was a 1055 m long track from Transporty Chrudim with a fixed attachment of single-seater seats, one of the first chairlifts in Czechoslovakia.

Until 1958, the cable car was operated by the Czechoslovak State Railways. Between 1963 and 1964, the cable car was modernized and extended to a total length of 1391 m. It was not until 1987 that it was replaced by a two-seater cable car from the Tatrapoma company, the length reaching 1612 m.

Already in 1992, a new, powerful four-seater Doppelmayr cable car was built here, the first of its kind in the country. In 2012, there was a major breakthrough in the operation of the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort. Based on a lease agreement until 2057, the joint-stock company Melida will take over the operation of the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort from the owner of the Czech Sports Union (former ČSTV) ski resort.

The majority owner, led by the visionary Igor Rattaj, is TMR - a successful Central European leader in providing tourism services.

Melida has already invested a huge investment in improving the Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort, which can be seen in new gastronomic facilities, shops, safety on the slopes and new cable cars. The most visible achievement is the current modern six-seater heated cable car "innogy line Svatý Petr", which was put into operation in 2015. The cable car is manufactured by Leitner.
