CHINESE DOWNHILL 2026

The eleventh edition of the legendary event organized by the MAROSANA crew. A mass bike ride down the snow-covered red slope in Svatý Petr.

If you've been to this event before, you know what it's all about. It's a celebration of winter mountain biking. Getting together with the bike community at this special time of year and playing cards? It's a must for every enthusiast. The winner gets an artistic trophy, which is made in a different design every year, so it's always unique.

On top of that, there will be an upgrade to the track, mainly concerning safety, as well as a bunch of surprises. Exhibitions, music, and stands will also be there. 

This is a unique race of its kind, not only in the Czech Republic. A mass downhill race on mountain bikes, on snow, down a red slope, and it will be a blast again. Once again, 300 competitors will line up at the start.

The qualifying run will be held in three groups of 100 riders, who will start together on the red, ungroomed slope in Svatý Petr.

Fifty of them will advance to the final run, where the 150 best riders will compete.

Every year, the conditions are a little different, so what will it be like this year? Come and see for yourself.

The track is about 2 km long and has about 10 turns with safety nets. Anyone can win, but the most important thing is to participate.

Free parking for cars at Hromovka (about a 10-minute walk to Svatý Petr). 

Schedule:

10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Registration confirmation, start numbers, chips - Stadion Restaurant, Sv. Petr

2:00 p.m. closing of the red slope to the public, course construction
2:00 p.m. gradual departure by the six-seater chairlift Sv. Petr - Pláň (starting according to numbers - i.e. first group 1-100, second group 101-200, third group 201-300)

2:30 p.m. Gradual closure of the red slope for the race and lining up at the start
3:00 p.m. Start of the first qualifying group (100 competitors, mass start)

3:30 p.m. Start of the second qualifying group (100 competitors, mass start)

4:00 p.m. start of the third qualifying group (100 competitors mass start)
4:15 p.m. fastest 150 competitors from the qualifying round - transfer to the cable car
5:00 p.m. start of the race (150 competitors mass start), FINAL
5:15 p.m. Dj Wajtas (Red Bull Saurus)

5:30 p.m. Announcement of results at the finish line (first 3 women and 5 men) and overall results list

Entry fee:

Payment only possible online CZK 890 (the online registration fee includes a start number with chip, cable car for the race run(s), Red Bull energy drink, sticker and badge from the event)

Rules:

Anyone can participate in the race, regardless of their license.

Categories: Women and Men

Mountain bike in good technical condition (downhill, enduro, or freeride recommended).

It is forbidden to use any spikes, screws, or studs mounted in the tires! High-quality tread on the tires is recommended!

Excessive physical contact is prohibited (judged by referees along the track).

Each competitor must pass through the marked gates, otherwise they will be disqualified.

Be over 18 years of age. If I am 15-18 years old, I can only compete with an adult representative or with the written consent of one of my parents.

Mandatory equipment: full-face helmet, knee pads, goggles, and gloves (spine protector recommended).

Registration will be possible at www.sportt.cz.

It is forbidden to ride a bike on the slopes outside of the race.

A corridor at the finish of the black slope will be reserved for test rides.
