LUČNÍ BOUDA HAS PARTIALLY REOPENED ITS RESTAURANT
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. THE DISPUTE WITH KRNAP IS STILL ONGOING.
The restaurant at Luční bouda in the Krkonoše Mountains has been closed since June 1. Now, as of August 1, it has partially resumed operations, even for visitors who are not staying at the hotel. However, despite the partial opening, strict entry rules apply, and you cannot enter without a prior reservation. The limited regime is a result of ongoing disputes with conservationists from the Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP).
Admission is subject to free capacity, which is currently not used by accommodated guests. Those interested must reserve a place in advance online or using a QR code located at the entrance to the lodge. Free entry to the building remains prohibited.
The reason for the restriction is a protracted dispute with KRNAP
Luční bouda, located at an impressive altitude of 1,410 meters above sea level, has restricted its operations since June 1. The main reason for this step is long-standing disputes with the KRNAP Administration regarding permits for supply vehicles to enter the area.
The owners of the hut accuse the KRNAP Administration of harassment and claim that they and their suppliers are being unjustifiably fined for allegedly illegal entry into the protected area. However, representatives of the KRNAP Administration insist on compliance with the Nature Conservation Act.
Exemptions are possible free of charge, but on an individual basis
The KRNAP Administration points out that an exemption from the entry rules must be requested for each vehicle separately. These exemptions are provided free of charge and apply to all buildings located in the quiet zone of the national park. This applies not only to Luční bouda, but to a total of 11 buildings.
However, the owners of Luční bouda are demanding that the supply route be excluded from the quiet zone, which would significantly limit the powers of the KRNAP Administration in this area. The KRNAP Administration has the power to restrict or even completely ban traffic in the quiet zone. This dispute thus affects visitors and complicates the situation.
