Špindlerův Mlýn, one of the leading ski resorts in the Czech Republic, is preparing to take a significant step forward.
A new chairliftr, Hromovka 2, is currently being manufactured in Italy. It is a key part of an ambitious project to connect the Svatý Petr and Medvědín ski resorts. This investment, amounting to millions, promises to elevate Špindlerův Mlýn to the level of top European resorts and bring benefits to both visitors and local businesses.
The implementation of this project, whose importance is underlined by the support of the city's leadership, is approaching. The ski resort expects to obtain a building permit for the construction of the chairlifts in October this year. Subsequently, in the spring of next year, the start of the construction itself is planned. The launch of the new six-seater cable car with a bubble cover is then planned for the fall of 2026. This modern chairlift will not only increase the comfort of skiers by protecting them from adverse weather conditions, but will also speed up transport and improve the overall capacity of the resort.
The connection between the Svatý Petr and Medvědín resorts will create an extensive network of ski slopes, making Špindlerův Mlýn more attractive to skiers of all levels of experience.
This investment is not just about improving the skiing infrastructure. It has the potential to positively impact the entire economy of the region. The increased attractiveness of Špindlerův Mlýn will lead to an increase in visitor numbers, which will be reflected in better results for local hotels, restaurants, and other businesses. The project is also expected to create new jobs in tourism and related services.
P.S. Subsequently, the ski resort will build a ten-seat cable car across the Bedřichov residential area to Medvědín.
