REPAIRS TO HIKING TRAILS IN KPN

Karkonoski Park Narodowy

The Karkonosze National Park in southwestern Poland, near the border with the Czech Republic, has announced extensive repairs to hiking trails in the coming period.

Work is planned on several key sections with the aim of increasing safety, durability, and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. At the same time, temporary closures and restrictions must be expected; park visitors are asked to respect the signage, follow the instructions of the park administration, and use the recommended detours.

Main planned interventions and dates:

From November 5, the yellow tourist trail from Pielgrzymów to Polední kámen is closed. The recommended detour follows the green trail from Polana through the Wielki Staw moraine. The estimated completion date is December 15.

From November 6, the green trail "Ścieżka nad Reglami" in Sněžné jamy is closed on the section from Rozcestí pod Wielkim Szyszakem to Mokré rozcestí. This work is planned until the end of June 2026, as it involves extensive modifications and securing of the section.

From November 6 to 8, the green trail from Hala Szrenicka to Jakuszyce is completely closed. The recommended detour from Jakuszyce leads along the slopes of Przedział along the old toboggan run to the hut at the Kamieńczyk waterfall.

Repairs to the surface of the yellow trail from the Wild Waterfall to Polana near the Strzecha Akademicka hut began on November 4. The trail is not completely closed, but there may be local restrictions and temporary sections with alternating passage — it is recommended to follow the instructions of the workers and the markings.

Work is underway on the bridge over the Sopot stream on the Cesta pod Reglami trail; motor vehicles are prohibited from entering the yellow trail. A temporary footbridge has been built a few meters upstream from the bridge for pedestrians and cyclists, ensuring passage across the stream during repairs.

On the red trail from Trzech Świnek to Sněžné jamy, the surface of the trail is being improved and guardrails are being installed, which will increase safety on exposed sections.

Repairs to culverts on the red trail from Brama Kamieńczyka to Hala Szrenicka are ready to begin; work will start after November 4.

Reconstruction of the green tourist trail from Hala Szrenicka to the upper station of the cable car to Szrenica will begin after November 4.

Repairs to damaged culverts will also affect the red trail to the Nad Łomniczką mountain hut; work is scheduled for after November 4.

Reconstruction of the yellow trail from the KPN border to the Pod Łabskim Szczytem mountain hut began on November 4. The trail will not be closed, but traffic restrictions and local adjustments that may slow down passage can be expected.
