MEDVĚDÍ BOUDA - SPINDLERUV MLÝN - KRKONOŠE

Medvědí bouda (Bear Lodge) is one of the Krkonoše mountain lodges with an interesting history. It was established at the beginning of the 19th century as an establishment of the so-called "bouda farm", but already connected with accommodation for visitors to the mountains. The chalet was successfully rebuilt in the 1970s to its present form, which does not differ much from the original, and is currently undergoing a gradual and sensitive reconstruction.
Medvědí Bouda is located 4.5 km above Špindlerův Mlýn at an altitude of 1060 m in a beautiful area called Sedmidolí. The distance from the centre of the town is four and a half kilometres, so it is suitable for both summer and winter recreation.

THE MEDVĚDÍ BOUDA RESTAURANT
In the restaurant, which is located on the ground floor of the building, we offer honest home-made old Bohemian or Krkonoše cuisine - basically according to original recipes and therefore without any chemicals and substitutes.
Our restaurant is currently open only for guests. Unfortunately, we do not offer restaurant services to other tourists for capacity reasons.

Have you ever eaten Sejkory, Bejlík or Kaldoun? How about the Bloody Baba or Rozpeky sralka? You can also taste such dishes here.

You'll appreciate homemade pastries, preserves, lard, cracklings and several times a year even a real slaughterhouse.
In addition to good Krkonoše food, we offer you honest unpasteurized purely Czech beer Krakonoš from the brewery in Trutnov, founded in 1582.

EATING
Within the accommodation we can offer our guests a rich breakfast (buffet), half board or even full board.
Thanks to the combination of restaurant, dining room, children's club and playroom for the big ones, you can spend your free time in our hut without you or your children getting bored.

ACCOMMODATION - MEDVĚDÍ BOUDA
The Medvědí bouda offers accommodation for less demanding guests in cosy but not luxurious rooms. The rooms are mostly without private bathrooms, they have only a corner with a sink, mirror and cabinet. Six rooms have already been equipped with their own bathroom facilities, for the other rooms there are showers and toilets on the floors. All sanitary facilities and rooms are newly renovated. The lodge provides shelter for up to 145 guests.

Parking and accessibility:
For guests we offer the possibility of free parking in the summer season directly at the lodge, in winter at the reserved parking lot in Medvědí kolen. We offer luggage and passenger transport from "Medvědí koleno" to the lodge and back (service is chargeable).

EQUIPMENT
Our lodge offers guests their own 160m long ski lift, trampoline, table tennis, playground, sports field for ball games. In summer there is also a fireplace, a guitar and since spring 2016 a tee-pee with overnight accommodation.

An integral part of the lodge is a ski room, a boot room, a lounge, a restaurant. We have a children's playroom full of toys, we lend cuddly toys to children for sleeping, babies a cot. We also have a games room for the bigger or bigger ones with electronic darts and football, internet connection, board games and sports equipment.

THE MEDVĚDÍ BOUDA IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR OUTDOOR SCHOOLS!
There is no better place for outdoor schools! The Medvědí bouda offers children healthy air, nature and the positive energy of the Krkonoše. 

An integral part of the lodge is a restaurant divided into several rooms, which can also be used as common rooms. Other rooms are used as playrooms for small and big ones. The restaurant is visited by the public in addition to the guests staying in the chalet, but there is a necessary part for school trips, which is under lockdown and inaccessible to other visitors. In the case of larger expeditions, the restaurant will remain completely closed to other members of the public. There is a no smoking policy in the restaurant and all other guest areas.

Most children will also enjoy the opportunity to interact with the animals. We currently have a Shetland pony mare, three Dutch Dwarf goat kids, several rabbits, a female Bernese Mountain Dog. Next spring we will expand the breeding to include other species and breeds of domestic or farm animals so that urban children in particular have as much contact with the countryside as possible.
