We highly recommend a mountain hike from Szrenice. You will get to know a completely different part of the Giant Mountains than you are used to. Our tip is below.

Szrenica (Czech: Jínonoš, German: Reifträger) is located on the Polish side of the Giant Mountains in the main ridge, about 200 m from the Czech - Polish border, 3.5 km south of Szklarska Poręba. The peak of Szrenice lies at an altitude of 1362 m.

Szrenica with its pointed peak protruding from the border ridge forms one of the dominants of the western part of the Giant Mountains. The granite composition of the mountain is manifested on the outside by the rubble of boulders and a number of rock torus.

The Szrenica cottage has been at the top since 1922, and below the peak on the northern slope is the upper station of the SKI ARENA Szrenica chairlift, which also serves as a cable car for one of the largest downhill skiing areas on the Polish side of the Giant Mountains.

From the Polish side, you can get to the top near the top by chairlift from Szklarska Poręba and then walk along the black marked hiking trail about 500 m long to the top itself. From the Czech side, access is possible by turning off the red-marked path of Czech-Polish friendship.

Webcam Szklarska Poręba with a view of the cable car SKI ARENA Szrenica is available here.

We highly recommend a mountain hike from Szrenice-

OUR TIP: sleep in the Schronisko Szrenica mountain hut, or in the nearby Schronisko Na Hali Szrenickiej, both mountain huts have very pleasant equipment and facilities. In the morning after breakfast, go either along the ridge of the Giant Mountains, or even better - for able-bodied tourists - walk along the green, on the slopes of the Polish side of the Giant Mountains. The reward will be a beautiful trip. You will have a massif of Sněžké jams above you and you will walk around the lakes of Sniežna Stawka. Continue along the green and you will come out at Petrovka.
